Fashion Tips: Why I Skip the Sales Rack

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a little tip I've learned about shopping in the past few years. It's no secret that sales racks can be overwhelming. Once you see that sign, your standards change almost instantly.

One of my favorite places to browse for deals is the clearance section at Nordstrom Rack. Let's just say, I've purchased a lot of questionable things because of this fixation on the discounted price. Don't get me wrong, I've found some great stuff, but a lot of the time I'm just settling on something I don't actually want, simply because it's marked down.

Not only does this crowd my closet with clothes that I might not actually wear, it also takes a toll on my pocketbook. When it comes to fashion, I believe in investment. If you want something that you'll wear until it's tattered & torn, sometimes you gotta fork out the extra penny.

This isn't just advice for broke college students (like myself); it's for everyone! Growing up, I was always told to head straight for the deals, but I honestly believe that can be a harmful tactic in itself. Instead of overspending on deals, how about making good investments on face value? Eventually you'll be able to find the real deals all around you & not just in the clearance section.

When you see a deal, think to yourself, "is it really a bargain or am I just lowering my standards to save an extra buck?" Keep in mind, your closet will become filled with clothes you truly want/need & your wallet will thank you. I'm not saying you should avoid deals altogether, but just be smart about it!

Hope this helps you on your shopping ventures! Let me know what you think of this strategy & remember, you can be smarter than the seller!
